An unlikely hero Salman Butt

There is no doubt in the ability of Salman Butt in the Tests and One Dayers but the way Butt played in this Twenty20 World Cup, simply outstanding.

I was really pleased to see him playing with confidence and command in the Twenty over game, before the tournament everyone was questioning over his selection in Twenty20 World Cup but he proved everyone wrong and appears as Pakistan best batsman and third highest run getter in the competition. He scored 223 runs in six matches with an average of 44.60 and strike rate of 131.17.

Now Pakistan Cricket Board is looking for a captain for England tour, Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq are not available for the Tests, Younis Khan and Shoaib Malik is under ban, Mohammad Yousuf has retired from international cricket so who's gonna be Pakistan captain? Salman butt is definitely on the top of the contender list.

Pakistan loss but no regrets

One thing is for sure! Saeed Ajmal will never forget his last over for his entire career and life........

I never ever seen that kind of a match in my entire life, Michael Huseey simply deserve what he got, I started to dance after Cameron White got out but like other Pakistanis my dancing plans was crashed by Michael Hussey in the last over of Saeed Ajmal.

I still can't believe what happened to Saeed Ajmal in the last over? I have never seen anyone hit Ajmal like that before, giving the last over to Ajmal was absolutely correct decision by Shahid Afridi but Saeed Ajmal failed to mix it up like he had done in the entire tournament. No faster ones, no yorkers, no dosra...... it was all that Hussey needed.

18 runs in the last over of Saeed Ajmal, match was in the bag at that time but Michael Hussey showed that why he is known as finisher and Mr Cricket, He was just unbelievable, a miraculous innings washed Pakistan dreams of defending he Twenty20 title.

Before the match everyone was talking about if Pakistan score 150 than they can defend that total but absolutely blistering innings from Akmal brothers boosts Pakistan total miraculously to 191 but no one knew that this would be not enough for them.

I think Ajmal missed a trick in the last over, Hussey out played him with his superb batting, Ajmal bowls regular deliveries trying to bamboozle him but Hussey kept his cool and hit three 6 and one 4 in the last over of Saeed Ajmal. I think Ajmal should have gone with the situation, he should have dart the balls in instead of giving flight to Hussey, Ajmal tried to out class the batsman but Hussey stunt him by picking him and sending the ball out of the park.

What a match that was! you cannot ask for the better competition in the semi-final, Pakistan played out of their skins but in the end you have to give the credit to only one man Michael Hussey who ends Pakistan's miraculous World Cup campaign.

Every Pakistan was praying to Pakistan, every one was on the streets watching Pakistan destroying Australia and almost for the whole match they were dancing but in the last over every one's heart broke like me, no one knew what to say? in the end we have to say It's not Pakistan who loss the game but its Australia who won the match.

Defending the title should not be difficult

Defending the title should not be difficult that's what i think when i see Pakistan team again and again because they have the fire power and the players who can really turn the game on their heads.

I am keep writing this for a month now that he is the best leader right now for Pakistan team because they need some one who can make positive decision and Afridi has that quality and he will fight that's for sure. Umar Akmal, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez, Abdul Razzaq and Shahid Afridi are custom made for the Twenty20 cricket so batting failure in the T20 championship will be surprising.

Umar Gul's absence is definitely a bit worry for Pakistan but when you look at the spin attack its best in the world and on slow Caribbean wickets spinners should be main weapon in the tournament.

I can't see any reason why Pakistan can't defend this T20 title, having lots of goods batsmen and quality players in the team Pakistan should be able to defend their title in style.

Right man for the right job

Classic cover drives, 4 slips waiting for the catch, old fashion cricket.....no no no no , this is T20 time and its Pakistan who will defend this ICC World T20 Championship and i believe there is no better man in the world but Shahid Afridi for this job.

You can see from from Afridi's eyes that he is the man who knows how to play aggressive cricket and specially in T20 cricket his aggression is too much for the opposition to put them out of the game. For me Shahid Afridi is the best man to captained Pakistan because Pakistan needs a strong leader who can make his own decision and positive ones as well, defensive captaincy gave nothing to Pakistan so the decision of making Afridi as a captain will definitely be refreshing.

Shahid Afridi always said that he wanted his team to play positive cricket beyond the results and that's a good sign from the captain who wants his team to fight, whole world knows that Afridi was a fighter, he is a fighter and he will remain a fighter because passion of cricket is in his blood and that why we called him BOOM BOOM.

I personally like his approach, the way he thinks of cricket is just amazing, he has become sensible now, there was a time when he used to just throw his bat and get out but now he wants to stay on the crease and score runs for Pakistan, i always believe his batting is a bonus to Pakistan because his main job right now is a main bowler, last 2 years are just unbelievable how he bowls, he is one of the top spinners in the world right now so his leg break bowling and hard hitting will definitely be tested in the ICC World T20

Pakistan need Mohammad Yousuf

In Pakistan there is a long list of legends who does not ends up their careers in deserving way and Mohammad Yousuf is recently one of them and i really feel sorry for him not only about the way he left the cricket but the way Pakistan Cricket Board treated him, simply is painful.

Mohammad Yousuf is the most classy batsman i ever saw in my life, he is the man for Pakistan for so long with Inzamam but his services is definitely special to Pakistan Cricket, when everyone sits back he always stood up and take the challenge.

He announced his retirement due to the disgusting behavior of PCB, PCB banned him and Younis Khan for the indefinite time period saying that their fight effects the teams and Yousuf presence in the team is harmful to Pakistan Cricket, these kind of remarks for the player of Yousuf's caliber and class simply are enough for making him quit but PCB could have done something else to Yousuf if they wanna punish him because at this point of time he is the only senior and responsible batsman in the team and only 2 or 3 years are left of his cricket so PCB should have played him more than anyone else but board banned him.

Now when the World Cup 2011 is nearing and team is heading towards a very tough tour of England there is no senior batsman in the team to lead from the front, Pakistan definitely need Mohammad Yousuf and his experience in the team if they want to take revenge to the disastrous tour of Australia and i am sure that Yousuf wanted to be the part of the team when they face Australia again.

Now when he is retire there is definite absence of class, elegance, experience and seniority in the team, i really believe that he can still serve Pakistan for 2 or 3 more years and Pakistan still need him.....

At last we win

1st win after 11 losses, i am jumping since the last night when Abdul Razzaq won the game for us, at one time when Umar Akmal got out i thought this game is also over but Abdul Razzaq destroyed English bowlers completely.

Even though Pakistan won that match but this wasn't in a convincing fashion, its only the magic of Abdul Razzaq who take us home other wise this could have been another sad story for Pakistan cricket team but thankfully Abdul Razzaq came to rescue.

Still Pakistan hasn't learn form their mistakes and they are keep doing these mistakes again and again but this is good that Pakistan win a game just before the Twenty20 World Cup and if they want to make some changes then it is the time now.

I have been more happier than i am now, its just like we was waiting for a win for years, end of loosing streak is a good feeling specially a win like yesterday

No win no fight

9 match and 9 losses, cannot be worse than this. Last T20 match was the last hope for Pakistan to get a win but they gifted another win to Aussies who completed their clean sweep of Pakistan.

This tour proved to be the worst ever tour for Pakistan because no win and no fight was the title of this tour. Mohammad Yousuf, Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik were the three captains in this tour but nobody able to take a single win against the Aussies which is very disappointing and hurt breaking.

Loss after fighting is acceptable but the way Pakistan played doesn't look like they are playing for pride an honor, things were looking quite irresponsible in the field. No one looked like to take the responsibility on his shoulders

Last two matches were a bit closer simply because of the aggressive approach of the captains but finishing touch is lacking in the Pakistan side which was the losing factor in last 2 games.

Shahid Afridi what he did in last ODI was unbelievable for me , people can also take that action as a desperation for a win but this was not professionalism at all from Shahid Afridi having lots of experience

3-0 in Tests, 5-0 in ODIs and 1-0 in Twenty20 simply showing that Pakistan was way behind mentally against the Aussies, you cannot expect that kind of a result from a team like Pakistan who can destroy anyone on his day but they let Australia escape from every opportunity.

Pakistan will get its chance for a revenge sooner so that's a perfect time to make some necessary changes not just in the field but off the field as well for the better future of Pakistan cricket.
